Bellamy Young has been a TV actor for more than 20 years. She was born in Asheville North Carolina, United States on February 19, 1970. She played First Lady Mellie Grant on ABC's Scandal. Beth Clemmons was also a regular on CBS's Criminal Minds. She was a producer and writer with Shonda Rhimes, both on Scandal and Private Practice. Shonda Rhimes is a writer and producer who worked alongside her on Private Practice as well Scandal. She graduated from Asheville High School 1987. Yale University was her first option, but she later changed her mind to English as well as Theatre. Young studied for a semester in the British American Drama Academy, in England. Young became vegan in 1988. She was a PETA participant in the Being Vegan Keeps Me Young campaign in the year 2016. Young has been a consistent supporter of adoption from shelters.
